President Chaim Weizmann may leave in midsummer for Switzerland for medical treatment, it was announced by his office today. Joseph Sprinzak, Speakor of the Parliament, left by plane today for Uruguay to address the opening of the United Jewish Appeal fund-raising drive in Montevideo.

Speculation was rife in Parliamentary circles as to who will be the acting head of the Jewish state in the absence of President Weizmann and the speaker, who served as Acting President last year. The problem was resolved, however, when the President announced that he would postpone his departure until after Mr. Sprinzak’s return.
