The Western Jewish News here, founded in 1926, is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary. The present publisher is Dave Corne, who succeeded the founder, the late Samuel A. Berg. The weekly newspaper’s editor-in-chief is Harold Hyman. The newspaper, based here, has branches in Calgary and Edmonton. Winnipeg, with a Jewish population of 20,000, has three Jewish weeklies.
