April 19, 1939
See Original Daily Bulletin From This Date

A petition signed by a number of army generals asking exemption from Hungary’s proposed anti-Semitic law for Jews with certain military decorations and those who were taken prisoner or badly wounded in the Great War was submitted to the Upper Chamber tonight by Member George Pronay. Similar immunity was requested for the descendants of all Jews in the categories listed.

After scrutiny by the Upper Chamber the anti Semitic law will be returned to the Chamber of Deputies, which will consider amendments.
