Laborite Gad Yaacobi, Minister of Economic Coordination, has withdrawn his candidacy as Israel’s next Ambassador to the United States. Yaacobi informed Premier Yitzhak Shamir Wednesday that he was fed up with the “foot-dragging” over his appointment.
The appointment should have been made six weeks ago, but was postponed because of differences between Labor and Likud on a number of issues.
