The youngest rabbi in Canada has exchanged the pulpit for a seat in a Royal Canadian Air Force bomber.
Rabbi Philip Berger, 23 years old, the son of Rabbi Meyer Berger, of the local Achdut Israel Synagogue and a graduate of a New York theological College, has enlisted in the R.C.A.F. “Being in the Air Force will help me to be a better rabbi when this is all over,” Berger said when he enlisted.
