Leopold Grueblatt, once a wealthy merchant, 77, and his wife, 73, committed suicide yesterday by taking poison.

The suicide was attributed to the couple’s loss of financial means. A short while ago their only daughter, a gifted artist, committed suicide when her parents protested against her planned marriage to a non-Jew.
