During the current school year active steps have been taken by the education department of the Jewish Community of Palestine— Knesseth Israel—for the establishment of a Jewish scouting organization. which aims to unite all existing groups, particularly those that are working more or less along the Baden-Powell lines, according to Rabbi A. M. Heller, chairman of the Keren Hanoar project sponsored by Young Judaea.

Scouting in Palestine, Rabbi Heller points out in his report, is intended not as “a romantic game” only, but as a preparation for life in and on the land. To avoid emphasis on difference of political opinion, the Palestine Scout Association has accepted as its basic program only those activities that are common to all. The organization is divided in Boy Scouts and Girl Guides.

Young Judaea has assumed financial responsibility for the project.
