Addressing an audience at a private screening of a film made in the Sousa refugee settlement in the Dominican Republic, Sir Herbert Emerson, director of the Intergovernmental Committee on Refugees, asked the Dominican Minister to convey appreciation to his government for what it was doing for refugees.

The screening was attended by representatives of the Jewish Refugees Committee, the Care-of-Children Movement and other organizations interested in the Dominican settlement. The United States Embassy was represented by Third Secretary Theodore Achilles.
