The Rumanian authorities, while persecuting the Jews in the regained territories of Bessarabia and Bukovina, are finding it extremely difficult to bring economic life there back to normalcy since no Rumanians can be found to carry on the trades which are no longer permitted to Jews, it was reported here today.

The report is substantiated by an appeal published in the Bucharest daily newspaper Universal, which urges qualified Rumanian traders and artisans to proceed to Bessarabia and Bukovina “to take the place of the Jews there.”
