A $4,000,000 campaing for the establishment of a Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School on Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem was launched here today at the evening session of the Hadassah convention.

The session was addressed by Dr. A.C.Ivy of Northwestern University Medical School and Dr. E. M. Bluestone, director of the Montefiore Hospital in New York. Ira Hirachnann, co-chairman of the campaign, speaking at the session, said that Jews must now get the medical education denied them for a decade in Europe and in many places in the United States.

The convention addressed a message to Prime Minister Attlee protesting against the White Paper. Pointing out that the British Labor Government is moving away from its own clearly stated position with regard to Palestine, it warned that “the Jewish people will fight for the rights promised by Britain and by the League of Nations the right of every Jew who wishes to go to Palestine to enter the country freely.” The message also emphasizes that the convention fully supports the demand that Palestine be established as a Jewish Commonwealth.
