Munich Municipal Council Recommends Tour of Dachau Death Camp for Schoolchildren

The Munich Municipal Council today recommended that schoolchildren of this city be made to visit the site of the Dachau concentration camp and the burial sites of vicims of Nazism in the area before they are graduated from school.

The Federation of Jewish Communities in Bavaria today protested against the acquittal by a Nuremberg denazification court of Benno Martin, Gestape general and former chief of police of Nuremberg under the Nazi regime. The Nazi leader was originally sentenced to three years at hard labor and confiscation of half of his proporty. However, he was now acquitted because internment camps are being dissolved in Germany.

The Ministry of Interior of Hesse, in the United States zone, today reported that the Jewish cemetery in Loehnberg has been desecrated by unknown vandals. The Ministry ordered an immediate investigation. The synagogue of the city of Essen, in the British zone, was desecrated for the second time in two months last night. Both local and British officials are investigating the incident.
