The Austrian Interior Ministry refused to allow a festive celebration on the occasion of the unveiling today of a tablet for former members of the SS Elite Guard in the upper Austrian town of Wels. The Ministry permitted only a religious ceremony following strong protests by several anti-fascist groups against the original plans.
