A Czech Communist newspaper has accused Israelis of degrading Christian holy places in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. According to “Lidova Demoracie,” official organ of the Peoples Party, such shrines as the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem have been sullied by Israeli occupation troops, police and Jewish tourists. The paper claimed that the shrines were the scenes of “smoking, selling of liquor and disreputable photographs and unseemly behavior.”
