JAFI unveils memorial to murdered Jews

The Jewish Agency for Israel unveiled a memorial to Jews murdered in terrorist and anti-Semitic attacks abroad.The ceremony was held Monday, on Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day, outside the JAFI building
in Jerusalem, and was attended by victims’ family members living in Israel.”In this ceremony, the State of Israel recognizes, for the first time, hundreds
of people who paid with their lives because they were part of the Jewish people
and connected to the State of Israel,” Jewish Agency Chairman Zeev Bielski said
at the ceremony, which was held in conjunction with the World Zionist
Organization, the Jewish National Fund, Keren Hayesod and the United Jewish
Communities of North America. Some 200 Jews have been killed in
anti-Semitic attacks abroad since 1948. Their names are inscribed on the memorial.
