It’s not a huge surprise because of his “friendship” with Madonna, but Alex Rodriguez was wearing a red Kabbalah bracelet during the ESPN interview Monday in which the New York Yankee admits steroid use.
As ESPN’s Peter Gammons asks his first question in this clip, A-Rod scratches his ear with his left hand and a red bracelet can clearly be seen on his wrist.
While the red bracelet has some roots in Jewish tradition, it became a celebrity craze in the last decade because of the controversial Kabbalah Centre in Los Angeles — of which Madonna has been a notable member.
The bracelet is believed to protect the wearer from the “evil eye,” but for A-Rod, it may be much too late for that.
