Australian supermodel and actress Elle MacPherson was interviewed for the Howard Stern show on Tuesday and some of her comments made a few people raise their eyebrows. When Stern asked MacPherson whether her children are bothered by a nude photograph of her displayed at her home, MacPherson became a little aggressive and maybe even … anti-Semetic?
She said, “Howard, I think you are just being absolutely Jewish!!!”
Howard replied with, “Why is that Jewish?”
“You’re being overprotective!” said MacPherson. “You sound like a nagging mother!”
Wait a minute, was that anti-Semitic? I’m not sure. But Stern’s co-host Robin Quivers had little doubt:
“I just thought that she had you pegged as Jewish and everything you do is Jewish … You weren’t doing anything particularly Jewish, but since you are Jewish and she obviously identified that, everything you do is Jewish … That was what I thought was odd. Wow.”
“Yeah, she was very consumed with it,” Stern agreed.
Odd as it may be, it probably wouldn’t have been as big a deal if Stern was, say, Italian, or some other culture known for its helicopter parenting. Should we expect a response from the ADL?
