Arab newspapers yesterday launched a vehement attack on William Ormsby-Gore, British Colonial Secretary, for failing to declare suspension of Jewish immigration in his announcement of a Royal Commission to investigate Palestine disorders in the House of Commons last Wednesday.
The papers called for continuation of the general strike and terrorism.
Hebrew newspapers were guarded in their comment on the Royal Commission announcement. They expressed satisfaction that immigration had not been halted, but voiced apprehension that Mr. Ormsby-Gore had not made a clearer statement on the possibility of future suspension.
