Half Million Desiatin May be Made Available Through Drainage for Jewish Settlement (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
The survey of the Azov Sea region, inaugurated by the Soviet authorities to ascertain the possibilities for Jewish land settlement there, has been concluded.
The data obtained by the survey is now being examined with a view to ascertaining the possibilities of draining the swampy stretch of half a million desiatin land. Eighty specialists with 100 assistants including engineers, topographers, hydro-technicians and geologists, made the survey.
