British Press Calls for Repressive Measures in Palestine

The press in London this morning comments bitterly on ## hanging of the two sergeants in Palestine and demands the sternest repressive ##asures. One newspaper calls for the razing of the homes of Jews, the transfer of ## sections of the population in areas where extremist acts occur and the imposition of martial law throughout the country.The same newspaper, the Daily Mail, continues in a milder vein to call the stramists “the worst enemies of the Jews.” Another paper devoted half of its page ## a picture of the corpses hanging from trees under the caption: “The Picture That ## Shock The World.”

The Jewish Agency, answering an attack by the Archbishop of York who said last ## that the “lying propaganda of the Zionists” was responsible for the deed, is## statement pointing out that Jewish organizations throughout the country had ## effort to find the two abducted men and that Haganah members had giv## to halt extremist plots.
