The newly-formed Council of Rumanian Jews will demand that the Government guarantee equality of rights to Jews, it was declared today by Dr. Wilhelm Filderman, its president, in a statement to the press.
He said the council was not political, but aimed to defend Jewish rights within the framework of Rumanian laws, adding that it would seek to inform the public about the position and situation of the Jews.
The anti-Semitic movement, he declared, was not limited to youths, but was a great political organization with a pogrom of government and a budget of millions of dollars.
