Henry Ford, automobile magnate, in a statement to the London Daily Herald, denies that he gave “one cent” to any foreign political organization, although he admitted he had been approached for contributions to the National Socialist party.
Mr. Ford’s denial followed publication of the sensational charges, made by a German writing under the name of Johannes Steel, that Mr. Ford had contributed approximately $300,000 to finance the Hitler movement.
Steel, in a volume “Hitler as Frankenstein,” published yesterday, charged that Ford made large contributions under the guise of payment of salaries and bonuses to the Hohenzollern prince, Ferdinand, who is employed by him at his factories in Detroit. Ford, denying this, stated that Ferdinand received the same wages as other Ford employees and no more.
