Israel has accepted more displaced persons and refugees from Austria than any other country, it was revealed here today. Figures released by the Jewish Agency show that 60,420 Jews loft Austria for the Jewish state.
According to statistics furnished by the International Refugee Organization, the United States was second with 17,900 immigrants, while Canada was third with 14,070. In all, some 155,000 Dp’s and refugees have left Austria for their former home countries or for resettlement.
