The Israel Air Force must keep up with the newest developments in aeronautics and in aircraft if it is to maintain its qualitative superiority over Arab air forces, Brig. Gen. Ezer Weizmann, commander of the Air Force, declared today. He spoke at the convention of the National Aeronautical Association.
Prof. Israel Dostrovsky, chairman of the Isotopes department of the Weizmann Institute, was named today director of the new National Nuclear Research Center at Nebi Rubin.
Nebi Rubin is the site where Israel’s first atomic reactor station is now being assembled. It is expected to be completed within two to three months. Prof. Dostrovsky will simultaneously direct the Scientific Development Division of the Israel Defense Ministry. He was recently named chairman of the reorganized National Research Council.
