Jewish Army reservists on active duty next month will be released a day early in order to be home for the Rosh Hashanah holiday, the National Jewish Welfare Board announced today. According to Rabbi Edward T. Sandrow, chairman of the JWB’s chaplaincy commission, the U.S. Army Continental Command has authorized local commanders to grant early release to Jewish reservists taking their annual active duty training.
