The Jewish Labor Committee of Detroit has rebuked the Jewish Community Council of Detroit for withdrawing co-sponsorship of the visit to this city of Mayor Ernst Renter of West Berlin. Similar action was taken earlier by the local B’nai B’rith organization.
In a latter to Dr. Harold A. Basilius, chairman of the Citizens Committee to Welcome Mayor Reuter, the Jewish Labor Committee declared that “Reuter represents the Social Democratic forces in Germany which are devoting their efforts to wiping out the last evidences of Nazism and anti-Semitism.”
