The Jerusalem Jewish Community issued a statement asserting: “The entire Jewish people will vigorously fight the intrigue against the World War promises, the mandate and against justice. They are still hoping that the British people and the civilized world will support their righteous and prevent the British Government from carrying out the proposals against the Balfour Declaration. To Dr. Weizmann: we are with you in your sorrow; may your fight be strong.”
