Maurice Rosenfeld Dies in Chicago After Brief Illness

Maurice Rosenfeld, retired Jewish capitalist, died suddenly at his home here yesterday. A throat ailment, which began on December 25, resulted in his death.

Mr. Rosenfeld was born in Chicago on January 15, 1855 and was educated in the local public schools and in a commercial college in Germany. On his return to the United States, he entered the real estate business and was active until his retirement in 1920. For many years, Mr. Rosenfeld was a director of the Southern Railway. In 1900, he was elected Cook County Commissioner and served for a term of two years. He was a member of the board of directors of the Michael Reese Hospital. Mr. Rosenfeld is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marie Rosenfeld, and by a daughter, Grace.
