Ralph Nader, the Green Party candidate for U.S. president, called Vice President Al Gore “cowardly” for backing Israel during the ongoing violence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Speaking at the University of California at Davis, Nader said Israel should be held responsible for the violence in the Middle East, adding that there would be no “peace in that area without justice for the Palestinians.”
