Premier Maurice Bourges-Maunoury of France today conferred upon Robert Lehman, senior partner in the 107-year-old banking house of Lehman Brothers and the Lehman Corporation, the order of an officer in the Legion of Honor.
For the past three months a special collection of 300 masterpieces in art from the Lehman collection have been on public showing at the Orangle des Tuilleries of the Louvre and has drawn crowds averaging 3,000 a day. Mr. Lehman is exhibiting these are treasures on invitation from the director of the national museums of France. This is the first time that the great French museum has ever shown the individual collection of a single American.
