The recent action of the boards of directors of Cedars of Lebanon and Mt. Sinai Hospitals and Clinics approving in principle the developing of a program of coordination of their services into a community medical center, was approved last Wednesday by the Jewish Federation Council board of directors, it was reported here today.
According to Steve Broidy, JFC president, this action was prompted by the consensus of the leaders in the health field that a coordinated hospital operation can better meet the health needs of more people, provide more effective research and teaching programs in the field of medicine.
Under the new coordinated program, the two major hospitals will confer with the Jewish Federation-Council of Los Angeles in all future moves. The chairmen of the coordinating committee are I. H. Prinzmetal, Jewish Federation Council; Raymond E. Lee, Cedars of Lebanon Hospital; and Leslie G. Cramer, Mt. Sinai Hospital.
