A three-point program on aiding the Jews in Europe now and providing for their rehabilitation after the war was advanced here today by the United Synagogue of America, comprising 1,400 Conservative congregations, sisterhoods, men’s clubs and young people’s organizations, representing more than 600,000 persons. The program, which will be presented for consideration by the forthcoming American Jewish Conference, which is slated to open on August 29, asks:
Prompt and effective measures by the United Nations to rescue the Jews in occupied Europe.
Guarantees by every state of the right of all persons to worship God according to their own beliefs and guarantees of the rights of minority groups to preserve their own culture and enjoy full political rights. Also, the formation of an international body to investigate and judge complaints of violations of the above rights, and the restoration to the Jews and other religious groups of all religious buildings and property.
Repatriation of all exiles and deportees who wish to return home after the war and restoration of their property. Establishment of Palestine as an autonomous Jewish state and free immigration of Jews until such time as a Jewish state is created.
