The Vatican has condemned both the terrorist bombing in Jerusalem and Israeli retaliatory raids into southern Lebanon that followed. Vatican spokesman Federico Alessandrini told reporters that “the deploration and pain of the Holy See for episodes of terrorism and acts of violence have been expressed more than once. They are vigorously confirmed today, not only for the Israeli incursion which has struck Lebanon, which moreover is going through a difficult moment in its life, but even before for the attack which spread a massacre last Friday in Jerusalem and for which Palestinian organizations have claimed responsibility.”
