The first World Congress of Jewish Physicians, called to combat discrimination against Jewish doctors and to survey sanitary conditions of Jews throughout the world, will be held here and at Tel Aviv from April 21 to 24.
The parley will unite the three existing Jewish medical and health organizations into a World Union of Jewish Physicians. They are the Jewish Medical Association, Tel Aviv; the Union of Societies OSE, Paris, of which Dr. Albert Einstein is honorary president, and the Organization TOZ, Warsaw.
Pointing out that Jewish physicians are among the groups most oppressed in Germany, the announcement states that the congress will take up the problem of aiding refugee doctors. The parley will also consider creation of a medical school in Palestine. Delegates will visit Palestine’s existing medical institutions.
The congress will open at the amphitheater of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. After the opening session it will be moved to Tel Aviv where it will hear reports on the situation of Jewish physicians and on Jewish institutions for preventive medicine and sanitary service.
