Otto Warmbier was detained in North Korea for over a year and died shortly after his return home to Cincinnati, Ohio, in June 2017 in a coma. He was 22.
They said the asset could be used to pay off part of a $501 million wrongful death judgement against the North Korean government for the death of their son while in the country’s custody.
Democrats want to know more about $2 million that the Trump administration agreed to pay North Korea for Otto Warmbier’s release but Trump officials say they never made good on the payment.
