Electrical Workers Union Gains Five-day Work Week

The Electrical Contractors Association, in signing an individual agreement with the Electrical Workers Union, has agreed to a five-day week and a 10 per cent, increase in wages.

The Marble Workers Union has served notice on the Marble Industry Employers Association that a five-day week and an increase in wages would have to be granted under threat of a strike of 1,500 workers. The Bricklayers Union, representing 9,000 workers, has asked for a five-day week and an increased wage. Their contract expires May 1.

David Cohen was re-elected president of the Jewish Community Center of Binghamton. N. Y. at the annual meeting of the organization.
