The local head of a campaign to hunt down Nazi war criminals in Hungary resigned amid criticism over the project’s legality. Ivan Beer resigned after a Hungarian official said last week that it was illegal for project officials to pass on information about alleged war criminals to their headquarters in Israel, Efraim Zuroff, director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Israel office, told The Associated Press.
