The National Council of Jewish Women is launching a grassroots campaign advocating reproductive choice for women. The group will launch what it calls “Plan A” on Thursday at the National Press Club.to coincide with the 42nd anniversary of Griswold v. Connecticut, in which the Supreme Court guaranteed the right to birth control. Phyllis Snyder, president of NCJW, will be among the speakers discussing the effort to mobilize voters on birth control, comprehensive sex education, contraceptive information and health services. New polling data on voter opinion of reproductive health will also be released.NCJW over the years has taken a progressive stance on issues such as child welfare, women’s rights and reproductive freedom.
