Israeli combat planes are reportedly training for a possible strike on Iran. Ma’ariv reported Friday that the Israeli censor lifted a ban on details of long-range practice runs coordinated with the United States. The runs include mid-flight refueling and are conducted in tandem with plans to increase Iran’s isolation in order to force the Islamic Republic to back down from its uranium enrichment program. Israel believes Iran could have a nuclear bomb by 2009. It currently backs diplomatic efforts, including sanctions, but is planning to review its options at the end of this year.
