A former top Israeli diplomat reportedly met with Syria’s ambassador to Washington in a bid to restart peace talks.
Alon Liel, formerly the director general of Israel’s Foreign Ministry, met this week with Imad Moustapha in Washington, Ha’aretz reported Friday.
Liel, who in recent years has led an informal effort to restart talks with Syria, also met with Congress members.
