A coalition of pro-Israel lawmakers from 13 countries expressed support for an undivided Jerusalem.

The May 22 resolution of the International Israel Allies Caucus Foundation, which also expressed support for Israel’s right to a pre-emptive defense, concluded the groups’ first conference, held in Washington under the auspices of U.S. Reps. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) and Dave Weldon (R-Fla.), co-chairmen of the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus.

“Jerusalem is, and should be, the undivided capital of Israel and the Jewish People, and in recognition of this all of the nations of the world should locate their embassies in Jerusalem,” the resolution said.

Another paragraph declared support for “the Government of Israel as acting within its rights and obligations to its citizens when it stands resolutely in defense of its sovereign territory and acts pre-emptively, if necessary, to ensure the protection of its citizens and the survival of its national existence.”

Lawmakers from Israel, South Africa, the European Union, Japan and other nations attended the conference.

The resolution was presented to the Knesset’s Christian Allies Caucus chaired by Benny Elon of the National Union Party.
