JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Web site of Britain’s major Jewish newspaper was the victim of an online attack.

Hackers of the Jewish Chronicle’s site Sunday replaced graphics on the homepage with a Palestinian flag and a message that read "Hacked by Palestinian Mujaheeds."

A message posted in both English and Turkish quotes from the Koran and displays anti-Semitic attacks against Jews.

The London-based site was suspended for several hours for repairs by technicians who also searched for a possible firewall breach. The site became operational again Monday morning.
