(JTA) — A Hungarian lawmaker was indicted for burning an Israeli flag in Budapest.

Balazs Lenhardt, who left the nationalist Jobbik Party in March, burned the flag at a demonstration by far-rightists last December. He was released shortly after questioning when he declined to waive his parliamentary immunity, which parliament removed last month, the daily Magyar Nemzet reported on Tuesday.

The newspaper said he is to stand trial for allegedly disrupting public order.

Some 100 demonstrators attended the flag burning in front of the Foreign Ministry and shouted slogans such as “Filthy Jews” and “To Auschwitz with all of you,” the Hungarian news agency Magyar Tavirati Iroda reported.
