With reference to a recent report in the “Jewish Daily Bulletin” to the effect that “Shatchen” cannot collect fees if couples do not want to pay, it may interest you to know the law on that subject is identical at least in New York and Michigan as was determined in the cases of Duvall vs. Wellman Vol. 124. N. Y. Reports, Page 156 and Anti-lift vs. June, Vol. 81, Mich. Reports, Page (###)
The cases and authorities cited therein indicate in how many other jurisdications this law has prevailed-and the authorities are many and respectable.
