Five Israelis were wounded slightly in a Palestinian rocket barrage from the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian terrorists on Wednesday launched at least 15 rockets at the Israeli border town of Sderot.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the salvo, which appeared to be in retaliation for an Israeli raid the previous day on southern Gaza that targeted Islamic Jihad cells.
Those behind the rocket fire may also have been hoping to scuttle Wednesday afternoon’s meeting between the Israeli and Palestinian Authority chief negotiators, Tzipi Livni and Ahmed Queria. The meeting launched the peace talks opened at last month’s Annapolis conference..
