An Israeli patrol and a gang of infiltrators from Jordan clashed yesterday in the Beisan area yesterday with three Arabs believed wounded, a military spokesman announced here today.
The Jordanians retreated across the border carrying their casualties with them, but bloodstains and marks on the ground were mute evidence that bodies had been dragged back into Arab territory. The infiltrators had penetrated more than 100 yards into Israel before they were apprehended by the patrol. An exchange of fire, begun by the Arabs, lasted over an hour and a half.
