The Emergency Committee to Save the Jewish people of Europe today made public an appeal to Marshal Stalin, asking the Russian leader to intercede to save the Jews of Hungary. The appeal suggests that Stalin agree to exchange Hungarian prisoners of war for Jews in Hungary who are menaced by the Nazis. Puth Rohde, former U. S. minister to Norway, speaking at a press conference today, arranged by the Committee, also suggested that Stalin issue a warning threatening the Hungarians with severe punishment if they slaughter the Jews.
