A spokesman for the European Executive of the World Jewish Congress denied today a report to the effect that the WJC’s coordinating committee at its recent Zurich meeting had decided to seek permission to send a delegation to the Soviet Union.
The spokesman said that the report was apparently based on a misunderstanding. The proposal had been made in various quarters, he noted, but had not been discussed at the Zurich meeting and no decision of this kind had been adopted.
