While most “Girls” fans out there were waiting for the first episode of the second season to begin last night, the show’s first season was praised and awarded at the 70th Golden Globe Awards.

As we reported, show creator Lena Dunham won both Best Actress at a comedy and also accepted the award for Best Comedy, and during her second acceptance speech, she had a very special (and random) thank you,”I also promised myself if I ever got this chance, I would thank Chad Lowe,”I’m sorry, I just promised and I promised my mom.”

But why Chad Lowe? Apparently, the whole thing began in August.

Dunham mentioned Hillary Swank’s famous Oscar acceptance speech incident in 2000, when she forgot to mention her (then) husband Chad Lowe:

However, last night it seemed like Dunham forgot to mention Lowe after winning her first award, which seemed like Lowe is the most-forgotten man on the planet, so he tweeted at her:

But Dunham made sure to correct herself:

Lowe rejoiced:

And Dunham responded:

That was beautiful.
