BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (JTA) — A campaign was launched to bring the masterminds of the AMIA Jewish center bombing in Buenos Aires to justice.

The Latin American Jewish Congress launched the petition campaign in commemoration of the 17th anniversary of the July 18, 1994 terrorist attack. The petition is to be delivered to Argentina’s president, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, on the anniversary of the bombing, which killed 85 and injured more than 300.

"We call upon the Argentinean government and judicial system to continue the investigation to bring those responsible to justice and end impunity," the petition reads.

The global campaign has been launched in eight different languages, including Russian and Chinese.

“The masterminds of the attack have not been brought to justice yet, but only Iran is to blame since they refuse to cooperate with the Argentinean justice,” Claudio Epleman, director of the Latin American Jewish Congress, a regional chapter of the World Jewish Congress, told JTA.

In the attack, a car bomb exploded in front of the Jewish center’s building.
