The Israel on Campus Coalition has a new executive director. Stephen Kuperberg was named Monday as the leader of the organization, an umbrella group of 30 national groups working on pro-Israel education and advocacy on colleges campuses. He will start next month and replaces David Harris, who left the organization to become president of the National Jewish Democratic Council this summer.
Kuperberg is a former state and federal prosecutor and currently a partner at Hogan & Hartson in Washington, D.C., but before entering the legal field was a field mobilizer for AIPAC

Washington, D.C. attorney and pro-Israel activist Stephen Kuperberg has been named the executive director of the Israel on Campus Coalition (ICC), the umbrella organization of more than 30 national groups working collaboratively to advance pro-Israel education and advocacy on campuses across North America. Kuperberg will take his new post in November.
“As Israel faces unprecedented challenges at American universities, the ICC’s role in fostering understanding and support for Israel on campus has never been more vital,” said Lisa Eisen, national director of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, which, together with Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, is the founding partner of the ICC. “We’re confident that Steve brings the skills, the experience, the passion and the vision necessary to elevate our mission and enhance our collective impact. ”
“The ICC and pro-Israel advocacy on campus are entering an important and exciting period,” said Wayne Firestone, who is both Hillel president and a former ICC executive director. “Under Steve’s leadership, the ICC will raise the profile and significance of the pro-Israel agenda on campus with students, faculty, administrators and the community. Hillel is excited to support the work of the ICC under Steve’s direction.”
An experienced advocate and Israel activist, Kuperberg is currently a partner with the international law firm of Hogan & Hartson, LLP, in Washington, D.C. He has previously served as a state and federal prosecutor, where he tried hundreds of cases before judges and juries. Before entering the law, Steve was a field mobilizer for AIPAC, where he worked with thousands of activists around the country to organize and advocate effectively for the pro-Israel agenda.

Kuperberg attained both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michigan. Following his undergraduate studies, he served as a fellowship volunteer on Project OTZMA, a year-long community service program in Israel. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with his wife and two children.
